Tigers Update 2/23 2011

Update for 2/23. Mainly some articles that came into our Inbox at Copa Times today.

Head over to Baseball America. They have just released their highly respected list of the Top 100 prospects for 2011.

The Tigers that made the list are pitcher Jacob Turner ranked at #17, third baseman Nick Castellanos at #65 and the last Tiger Andrew Oliver comes in #87 to round out the list for Tigers prospects. We all know the Tigers farm system isn't what it used to be. However much of the young talent is already in the majors, aka Austin Jackson & Rick Porcello.

The writers over at the Bless You Boys blog have been busy and have some great articles and links about the Tigers that were posted the past few days. There is some great articles about some Tigers prospects you may not know.

Also be sure to check out the Tigers official website. They have some great web videos posted with interviews with Justin Verlander, Joel Zumaya and interviews with the Dave Dombrowski.

Twitter has taken the nation by storm, now its slowly taking the Tigers locker room. The Tigers roster has never really been one for using twitter last season but expect that to change. Will Rhymes, Casper Wells, Robbie Weinhardt and Brad Penny are all now members of Twitter.

Cabrera arrested for suspicion of DUI

On Wednesday night Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera was arrested for suspicion of DUI by the St. Lucie police. We will keep you posted on the details as they come in. Yet one report out of Tigers camp is saying all the media was kicked out of the clubhouse and won't be allowed back in until they are completed with workouts.

I sure hope Miguel Cabrera doesn't let this become a problem for himself or the 2011 Detroit Tigers. Most important is Miguel in this situation. I really hope this isn't a problem like everyone in the media keeps suspecting it is. Let's hope he was just blowing off some steam before the season gets underway.

Yet the most favorite baseball movie of mine would have to be *61 directed by Billy Crystal that was made by HBO Films. I just loved how they re-created the feel of the 60's.

People are still recovering from last nights Super Bowl Party. Not only did the Green Bay Packers win but they beat a very good Steelers team. As a Lions fan its never great to see Green Bay finish on top, yet sometimes you just gotta tip your hat. They played well, battled injuries and still came out on top. Even though it was a nail biting close game for the most part to me the best part wasn't the game. Check out Chrysler's commercial for the new 200 model staring Eminem.



Not only was this a great commerical but it also makes you feel proud to represent Detroit.
